Meeks Bay Resort is Hiring a Resort Worker Near Tahoma, CA

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision the seasonal Resort Worker is responsible for assisting with the daily assignments as they relate to any of the following areas: Housekeeping, Maintenance, Snack Bar, and the operations of the Visitor Center. This includes the General Store, Parking, Phones and Reception. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs Retail/Reception duties including: Cashiering assignments, operating the coffee cart, stocking retail items in the general store, tracking consignment sales, tracking lost and found, answering phones, returning calls and pulling messages, checking guests in and out of lodging units and campsites, acting as parking cashier, reporting for cashier and parking, maintaining Visitor Center, assisting with clean-up of the resort, and taking reservations as appropriate.
  • Performs Housekeeping duties including: Cleaning all aspects of the units to the standard required, reporting for each unit cleaned, assisting with the daily cleanliness of campground restrooms and showers, informing the supervisor when repairs are needed and supplies are low, and doing laundry as needed.
  • Performs Maintenance Utility duties including:Cleaning and stocking the campground restrooms and showers, raking and cleanliness of beach, monitoring and securing garbage and recycle program, raking, sweeping and blowing all areas of the resort, cleaning BBQ pits and campfire rings, and assisting with the maintenance of resort property, window cleaning, installing screens, monitoring maintenance as applicable, safety standards as they relate to the maintenance at the resort, comply with all safety and regulatory issues as applicable.
  • Performs Snack Bar duties including:Cashiering assignments at the snack bar, cooking, and preparation of Snack Bar menu items, setting-up and cleaning the snack bar, assisting the Snack Bar Supervisor with portion control and monitoring supplies as necessary, assisting with all Food and Beverage assignments as necessary and following all safe-food handling practices.
  • Contributes to team effort by participating in job sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee occasionally is required to climb or balance; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • High School Diploma or GED Diploma and six months cashier, housekeeping, or maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California or Nevada driver’s license or capable of obtaining one within thirty-days (30) of employment.
  • Must be able to be insurable by the Tribe’s Driving Policy.

Preference will be given to Qualified Native American Indians.
