Medway Public Schools is seeking to fill the following position(s):** UNIT A - SPECIAL EDUCATION TEAM CHAIR (1.0 FTE) **Vacancies: Medway High School (1), Burke-Memorial Elementary (1)REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Student ServicesJOB GOAL: To work with, special and general education teachers and related service providers to ensure effective and appropriate support that allows all students to find success within their least restrictive environment.QUALIFICATIONS:1. Massachusetts licensure and 5 years of experience as a special education teacher, related service provider or psychologist; supervisor/director license preferred.2. Knowledge/experience with IDEA and state special education regulations, evaluation, and IEP meeting/process/development.3. Excellent oral and written communication and organization skills.4. Experience with various models of special education service delivery and program development.5. Strong skills in collaborative problem solving and conflict resolution.6. Familiarity with all Google Suite applications.7. Knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.8. Experience with facilitating IEP team meetings.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Serve as the IEP team chair for annual, initial and 3 year re-evaluation meetings, as directed.2. Complete and review all paperwork associated with the IEP team process.3. Support special education liaisons in the areas of instructional practices, IEP development and data analysis of special and regular education assessments.4. Serves as the IEP team chair for outside testing review meetings, as directed.5. Conduct achievement testing for students who require assessment in reading, written language, and math for new referrals and 3 year re-evaluations, as directed.6. Works with respective principals to monitor various special education services as well as review protocols regarding the interface between regular and special education support models/frameworks (i.e. MTSS, IST, Tiered Instructional Models, regular education intervention programs, etc).7. Participates in building based leadership meetings, including instructional support team meetings.8. Review student assessment data, including but not limited to: MCAS, district-wide assessment programs, various interim assessment data results, and analyze/interpret result trends for students with disabilities (SWD) in order to facilitate IEP meetings.9. Collaborates with Student Services in the facilitation of meetings among various stake-holders to ensure the successful transition of students with IEPs between programs/schools.SCHOOL YEAR: 2024-2025MINIMUM DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor'sSALARY RANGE: $53,202.03 - $105,660.68, Based on experience and qualifications and in line with current Unit A contractADDITIONAL STIPEND: Special Education Team Chairs shall receive an annual stipend of $5,000 as additional compensation beyond his/her salary for responsibilities and time beyond the contractual work day including, but not limited to ten (10) days beyond the regular work year.Interested applicants are asked to submit a resume, transcripts/certifications, and minimum of three (3) references via School Spring.
