Position Description:Sr. Software Engineer- Site Reliability Engineering for Medtronic, Inc. Minneapolis, MN. Responsible for the health, observability, and maintainability of the production and non-production environments, and the associated auxiliary components of the infrastructure that drive the day-to-day business. Work with Docker/Kubernetes Operators to support production workloads on Kubernetes (EKS)/Docker (ECS) and coordinate upgrades, application migrations & deployments. Ensure the environments are up and running by monitoring availability and performance through a holistic view of system health leveraging cloud native technologies plus system, network, and storage administration, and programming with Python, Bash, and PowerShell. Leverage Cloud knowledge on AWS (Amazon Web Services), AWS SSM (Amazon Web Services Simple Systems Manager), and CloudFormation Templates (CFT). Responsible for administration of Windows or Linux Operating System, and Storage & Networking. Responsible for various production workloads on Kubernetes – deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting.Use Infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible to build and configure the application. Employ experience with Jenkins Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and Azure Pipelines to deploy the application to cloud environments. Program & debug with Python, Bash, and PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and reduce toil. Leverage logging aggregation solutions including Elasticsearch, Logstash & Kibana (ELK), and AWS CloudWatch to create alerts and dashboarding. Utilize Monitoring/Observability stack experience such as Dynatrace, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch and Kibana Watchers to monitor application health. Multiple positions available. Basic Qualifications:Masters’ Degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Sciences/Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience as a site reliability engineer, DevOps engineer, or related occupation; OR Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Sciences/Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience as a site reliability engineer, DevOps engineer, or related occupation. Must possess a minimum of two (2) years with each of the following: Cloud AWS, AWS SSM, and Cloud Formation Templates; Administration of Windows or Linux Operating System, Storage, and Networking;Docker or Kubernetes; Terraform and Ansible; Jenkins CI/CD and Azure Pipelines; Programming and Debugging with Python, Bash, and PowerShell; Logging aggregation solutions including ELK and AWS CloudWatch; Monitoring/Observability stack experience including Dynatrace, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, and Kibana Watchers
