The Senior Program Manager will join the Surgical, Advanced Surgical Technologies Project Management Office (PMO) to implement, maintain, and improve a consistent Project Management framework in partnership with the Advanced Robotics Instrumentation Product Development core team, specifically as the dev core team member. This team member provides the critical Project Management expertise to enable crisp execution in a cross-functional core team by partnering with the core team leader and team members in project planning, execution, and monitoring, as well as other aspects of project management. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Dev Core Team Member for robotics instrumentation program providing leadership, strategic guidance, and tactile decision making. Accountable for overall project process, performance, and outcomes.

• Facilitate development and maintenance of the integrated, detailed schedule in ProChain. Partner with team to execute and monitor the project, abiding by the project management framework and using project management software tools. 

• Develop project budget including resource, discretionary and capital forecasts. Accountable for accuracy and management of project budget(s) and oversight of capital expenditures.

• Identify and monitor project team performance metrics. Analyze and present trends and recommendations to peers, core team and senior management. Contribute to or lead teams through project risk analysis, schedule recovery, etc. 

• Drive, maintain, and continuously improve the project management processes, guidelines, tools / templates, best practices, and overall implementation. Train teams on adopted project management methodologies. 

• Actively seek out and engage regularly with peers, creating an environment of exchange and learning. Openly share successes, challenges, and failures to promote the team’s collective learning and overall improvement. Participate in and drive adoptions of lessons learned and best practices. 

• Drive solutions to complex problems with team, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Drive change within the NPD team and share those learning across other teams (and functions).

• Ensure understanding of all quality policy / system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work / quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high quality work.

• Contribute to project prioritization decisions by offering data-driven insights and analysis derived from ongoing and previous projects. 

• Exemplify cross-functional leadership in matrix driven organization to drive results and support change management within the business unit.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or scientific discipline required;

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 

• 8 Years with Bachelors 

• 7 Years with Masters 

• Project leadership experience in a stage-gate design control system

• ProChain, MS Project, MS Office and Excel skills.

• Experience in a regulated industry, such as Medical, Pharmaceutical, Defense or Aerospace.

• Expert-level skills using the tools and techniques of Project Management. Successfully managed multiple projects from conception through commercialization, most desirably in the medical device industry. Ability to interact effectively with customers and Marketing to ensure that project scope and requirements are clearly defined and executable.

• Experience managing complex medical technology development programs. Exposure to systems engineering, concept engineering, hardware and software development, validation and systems integration. 

• Master’s degree in Engineering and/or scientific discipline, or MBA 

• PMP Certification, Lean Leader/Six Sigma Certification, DRM Certification
