A Day in The Life
Located at the Medtronic office in North Haven, CT or the Seaport District of Boston, MA, as an Embedded SW Product Owner you will be a leader of embedded software development efforts in the Software Group within the Robotic Surgical Technologies Center of Excellence.
You will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders within the Software Engineering organization to prioritize embedded software features across our instrument portfolio and other subsystems.
Collecting and analyzing inputs and requirements, including Voice of Customer, you’ll develop and groom the backlog of features for embedded platforms and help organize top-priority features into sprints within our SAFe Agile Program Increments. You will collaborate closely with several different teams across the project, to define requirements and user stories.
You will also participate in Agile activities including Program Increment Planning, Sprint Planning, stand-ups, etc.

You will:
- Lead the Scrum Team through the Software Development Life Cycle for medical devices following IEC 62304.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather inputs and refine the backlog according to business needs, user feedback and market analysis.
- Cross-functionally collaborate with HW and systems partners, including integration team, testing team, Quality and System V&V.
- Cross functionally collaborate with our reliability and manufacturing teams.
- Guide SW development scrum team(s) in sprint and increment planning, championing and supervising value-focused user stories, and determining Definition of Done / acceptance criteria.
- Participate in Risk Assessment and requirements development.
- Support the development of world class software for embedded systems using C .
- Participate in the documentation of the software including architecture and design detail, unit testing, anomaly tracking and reports.
