We are looking for a Senior Program Manager- Open Innovations to oversee multiple project teams and ensuring program goals are reached. In this role, you will be accountable product level program management, commercial program management, cross product / technical site program management and or external partnerships to deliver a product.You will be responsible for strategizing, implementing and maintaining program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives. Program Management
  • Responsible for prioritizing and budgeting strategic initiatives while managing dependencies between projects.
  • Driving alignment across the program and product management core teams
  • Delivering a program that meets customer needs, business needs and market needs on time, budget, and scope. Provide necessary leadership including Program/ project interdependency analysis.
  • Develop, communicate, and document project strategies and plans including budget, detailed schedule creation/maintenance, KPIs. Provides input to establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets.
  • Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives.
  • Manage program and project teams for optimal return on investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives.
  • Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams, commercial teams, customers, and external partners depending on the program.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned with the project plan by addressing any resource conflicts and addressing problems as they emerge. Facilitate project team meetings; prepare agenda, facilitate discussion during meeting, take and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Track spending associated to project. Provide monthly forecasts on upcoming spending. Forecast resource and skill set needs for the project and participate in resourcing discussions/negotiation.

Process and Skills

  • Identify improvements to existing project management processes, systems, and tools
  • Collaborate with other department employees to facilitate process improvements
  • Develop the Project Management skills of others, especially team members. Provide tactical and/or operational leadership and coaching
  • Establish plans and implements policies and strategies. Decisions impact program schedules, or allocation of time, material resources, expenditures and funds

Market and Customer Awareness

  • Interacting frequently with customers, KOLs, societies, academic institutions in the development of programs/products
  • Ability to achieve results by working cross-functionally and collaboratively across a matrix organization, including scoping, and managing projects with cross-business unit teams, external partners, suppliers and
    other vendors

Program Management Career Stream

Program Managers focus on tactical, operational activities for a major program with broad or ongoing impact. Levels within the program management career stream typically accomplish program objectivesthrough matrixed employee teams and / or vendors who are not direct reports but for which the incumbent has direct accountability to lead. Most of the time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility, managingprogram/team performance, communicating project and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of program team members. Goal achievement is typically accomplishedthrough performance of program team members.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years experience

Nice to Have

  • Medical Device industry experience- knowledge of new product development, DRM, clinical trial management, quality systems, global regulatory experience.
  • Experience developing solutions for clinicians.
  • Advanced degree such as MS, MBA, with strong financial acumen
  • Extensive experience leading a complex project/program including financial accountability including strong preference for PMP certification.
  • Prior experience managing large/complex site to site transfer projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Effective planning and organization skills including the proven ability to work against multiple objectives simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable of U.S. Food and Drug Law and WW regulatory, device safety and/or regulatory/clinical research.
  • Excellent knowledge of systems including PowerPoint, MS Project
  • Ability to establish and maintain a trusted role with the various stakeholders in coordinating multiple functions across the organization.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills. Effective communication skill with ability to explain complex concepts simply to senior leadership.
  • Product/Process technical expertise include including Qualifications (i.e. Validation including IQ, OQ, PQ activities;)
  • Proficient in structured problem-solving techniques

Working Environment

  • Usual office environment with frequent* sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional* climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.
  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally* and/or 10 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to move from department and buildings to interact with others.
  • Ability to travel frequently*, domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to provide afterhours support.
