The chemist will be responsible for performing Non-volatile Residue (NVR) analysis, extractions and sample preparations in an analytical chemistry lab. The position has responsibility for executing chemical characterization test methods and protocols, including sample preparation, extraction studies and instrumentation setup. The role functions as part of an analytical chemistry team that works under ISO17025 and ISO 13485 requirements in the medical device field.
Position Responsibilities
· Execute validated test methods for extraction studies and sample preparations
· Document testing and data analysis results in a lab notebook and laboratory information management system
· Support investigations into aberrant test results
· Test R&D samples based on plans or consultation with senior lab personnel
· Establish, communicate, and execute to timelines for test completion as part of the Analytical lab team to achieve business targets
· Support improvements and review laboratory processes
· General Analytical chemistry laboratory techniques with a preference for experience in general bench and wet chemistry techniques
· Limited understanding of cGMP, ISO17025, FDA and ICH requirements
· Strong verbal and written communications skills
· Ability to execute on daily tasks
· Ability to work and be effective with supervision
· Use of Microsoft Word & Excel
Successful candidate will have experience providing testing support for chemical characterization per ISO 10993, EU MDR, and teachables and extractables. The candidate will also have experience in a dynamic team environment, experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software, Electronic Lab Notebooks, experience working in and documenting experiments in a high regulated environment, and understanding of technical concepts and principals underlying Organic and Inorganic analytical chemistry techniques.About Medtronic
