Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team. As an EMT, you will play a crucial role in providing emergency medical care to patients in need. This is a fast-paced and rewarding position that requires strong medical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to patients at the scene
- Assess patients' conditions and administer appropriate medical treatments
- Perform physical examinations and gather patient medical history
- Administer injections and medications as directed by medical professionals
- Monitor vital signs and provide ongoing patient care during transportation
- Assist with lifting and transferring patients onto stretchers or into ambulances
- Communicate effectively with medical professionals and relay important patient information
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of ambulance equipment and supplies
Qualifications:
- Valid EMT certification/license in PA
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in administering injections and medications
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with medical terminology and emergency procedures
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
