MedStar Pharmacy has an opportunity for an experienced retail Pharmacist to join our team on a PRN basis to cover shifts in Washington, DC at both MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dual licensed candidates who are also licensed in MD with flexibility to cover shifts in MD locations as well are an added plus.
Evaluates drugs prescribed by physicians for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interaction, and contraindications; processes prescriptions through insurance company and handles DUR rejects, pre-authorizations, etc.; performs final check on all prescriptions, ensuring accurate input, labeling, and dispensing; and provides counseling and drug information to patients and physicians.
