Responsibilities:

• Circulates orthopedic and pain management cases
• Verifies patient ID and allergies, consent, procedure, site marking, clipping and cleansing pre-operatively
• Performs appropriate surgical prep
• Directs proper care of instruments, supplies, sterilization, and storage of equipment
• Able to multi-task and prioritize duties appropriately to facilitate smooth surgical processes and turnover
• Attention to detail and responsive to needs of patient and staff intra-operatively
• Identifies, labels, and cares for all surgical specimens properly
• Completes documentation for OR records, laboratory requisitions, and patient charts including medications and physician orders
• Team player that can multi-task and perform all duties as requested
• Assist Anesthesia
• Able to turnover including breakdown and set up with environmental services and SPD

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years OR experience

• Orthopedic background 1 year minimum
• Scrub experience is a plus
• Able to multi-task and participate in multiple roles necessary within a small business
• Active participation in supporting a Highly Reliable Organization

Education:

• Current Maryland nursing license
• BLS
• ACLS preferred
• PALS preferred'
