Overview


Under the direct supervision of the AVP of Revenue Cycle Management, is responsible for maintenance of the Revenue Cycle Management training manual, checklist, internet updates, and policy and procedures specific to RCM functions. As the Business Training Manager, is responsible for oversighting the planning and conducting of in-service training and educational programs for Revenue Cycle Management personnel. The scope of the training includes the new employee orientation with specific emphasis on in-depth IDX and Next Gen system training to ensure maximum efficiency within the computer systems. Reviews and maintains the departmental policy and procedures. Provides guidance and direction for audits of each department within Revenue Cycle Management for adherence to the policies. Responsible for the maintenance of up-to-date training material in accordance with software and departmental changes. Applications utilized are Excel, Word, Power Point, Master Database, Imaging, Next Gen and GPMS.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the complete maintenance and maintaining the Revenue Cycle Management training manual up to date.
  • Directs and guides the National Trainers in reviewing the training manual at least annually and updates all sections to ensure the most up to date information is reflected and utilized when training.
  • Facilitates the update of the employee Training Checklist on an as needed basis to ensure data reflected is up to date when training staff.
Responsible for maintaining open communication to all Regions regarding training initiatives and education.
  • Hold monthly meetings with all Trainers present to discuss the training manual, training process, new training programs, etc. Submit monthly minutes of the meeting to the AVP of Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Oversight the development of new training programs, such as basic Excel training, etc. that will assist new hires in bringing the staff to the next level.
Responsible for the formal writing of the Corporate Policy and Procedures that directly impact Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Works directly with the AVP of Revenue Cycle Management and formats new policy and procedures.
  • Reviews existing policy and procedures on an annual basis to ensure the business still operates under those directives. If not, notifies the AVP of Revenue Cycle Management and suggests required changes.
Responsible for working with the Corporate Marketing Department on maintaining the Internet.
  • Serves on the Internet Maintenance Committee.
  • Ensures updates of the job descriptions, policy and procedures or any other information on Revenue Cycle Management is up to date and accurate.
Responsible for leading National Training Team in ensuring robust training program for all Revenue Cycle Management personnel.
  • Facilitates creation of annual goals in support of creating efficiencies within the Revenue Cycle Management processes.
  • Prepare annual training plan based upon National Trainer audits in review of work product of Revenue Cycle Management personnel.
  • Facilitates the planning, organization, and conducting of in-service training and educational programs to target Revenue Cycle Management specific needs. Work with Market Managers and other Revenue Cycle Management team members to deliver effective integrated training solutions.
  • Utilizes the monthly staff meetings to educate staff on functions within Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Oversees periodical auditing of the Revenue Cycle Management personnel work.
  • Oversights performance of all new employee training in software applications and orientation.
  • Provide support for all audits and retraining. Provide feedback and act as the liaison between the practices and Revenue Cycle Management
  • Monitor and report errors and develop tracking for billing associates and provide retraining and feedback to managers.
Focus on using functional knowledge in Next Gen and IDX systems expertise to improve business operations to meet the changing business requirements of Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Creates and oversights administration of scheduled competency testing for all Revenue Cycle Management personnel.
  • Oversees re-training of all Revenue Cycle Management personnel in areas identified as training gaps.
Coordinates with National Trainers to present creative training programs to Revenue Cycle Management personnel including insurance verification, adjustments, refunds, collections, status claims, work denials, operational and ad hoc reports, Master Database, and other related operational tasks. Assist Revenue Cycle Management personnel in realizing the full potential of the billing and collections software.
  • Oversee training of all new hire Revenue Cycle Management personnel with checklist sign off.
  • Ensure regularly scheduled training sessions for all Revenue Cycle Management personnel.
  • Completes “Compliance Training” on an annual basis with all Revenue Cycle Management personnel.
  • Coordinates with National Trainers to create and administers training courses on Word, Excel, and any other software programs useful to Revenue Cycle Management personnel.
Integrate specific policies, procedures, and standards into training manuals and materials that teach staff how to apply billing and collections software to specific business processes.
  • Develops and maintains training manuals up to date.
  • Develops and maintains checklist of materials trained for Revenue Cycle Management personnel signature.
Work with Revenue Cycle Management EDI personnel to establish a reliable, flexible, and cost-effective training process improvement as new information and technology projects are implemented.
  • Oversights performance of comprehensive task-based analysis that can be used to develop new long term and short-term training programs or improve those that exist.
  • Assists Revenue Cycle Management EDI personnel with billing system software upgrades.
  • Research and submit any tickets to Max the Expert with documentation of the problems after thorough troubleshooting.
  • Facilitates creation of all service requests regarding claim formatting, constants, database changes, rebills, allowables and software enhancements to Revenue Cycle Management EDI team with documentation.
Completes special projects as assigned, such as billing and collections software analysis, and act as a general resource to Revenue Cycle Management personnel on training issues.
Attend professional meetings, seminars, and conferences to maintain knowledge, to implement and customize an effective training program.
Develops and maintains the Revenue Cycle Management policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Revenue Cycle Management team to develop unit specific policy and procedures.
  • Completes training with Associates impacted by the new policy and procedures.
Maintains the Revenue Cycle Management sections of the Pediatrix website.
  • Serves on the committee and attends meetings associated with website maintenance.
Creates and maintains Revenue Cycle Management forms.
  • Periodically reviews existing Revenue Cycle Management forms for appropriateness and legality. If needed, creates new form, and distributes.
  • Creates new forms when required for Revenue Cycle Management.
Maintain contract summaries and allowables.
  • Maintain allowables in the system and runs the reimbursement review report and audits fee schedules in system to be consistent with the current contract.
  • Coordinates any special projects.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Any patient information must not be divulged on any account except to payers that need the information to process the claim.
  • Any information relayed in confidence must not be divulged to any third party(s).
Presents a positive, professional appearance and conveys a professional demeanor in the performance of assigned duties.
Performs other job-related duties within the job scope as requested by Management of Revenue Cycle Management.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Qualified candidate should have 5 years revenue cycle management experience in the healthcare setting and 3 years training experience.
