Women's Health Nurse Practitioner
The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse, a provider that provides gynecological health care services including well-woman care, health education, contraceptive counseling and prenatal care. The advanced practice provider provides continual and comprehensive wellness and illness care to women across the life cycle with emphasis on conditions unique to women from menarche through the remainder of their life cycle within the context of sociocultural environments – interpersonal, family, and community within a variety of primary care settings such as family practice, internal medicine, community health centers, rural health centers and academic health care centers.

• Performs the clinical management of patients in their related specialty area following established guidelines.• Orders/performs therapeutic/diagnostic studies/procedures as assigned and demonstrated through competency.• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate patient care.• Disseminates pertinent information to assigned patients/staff/healthcare providers gathered from research, special projects or
committee involvement related to their role or specialty area.
• Provides the counseling and teaching for patients/families and other health care professionals related to their specialty area or role.• Evaluates outcomes of direct patient care and documents findings, interventions and results.• Applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and treatment.

*Must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing & be certified in Women's Health
