medmix is Hiring an Environment, Health, Safety and Lean Manager Near Elgin, IL

EHS and Lean Manager is responsible for environment, health and safety procedures at each stage of manufacturing and distribution as well as leading and designing lean manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. EHS/Lean works closely with all departments to ensure ISO 14001/45001/50001 procedure training and system auditing is performed. EHS and Lean Manager ensures that the company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations, including environmental, health, and occupational safety compliance. EHS and Lean Manager will lead the ISO 14001/45001/50001 certification projects and Lean initiatives for the plant operations. Must have a strong analytical mind to improve the company’s efficiency and productivity.

Main accountabilities and tasks

  • Drive continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System (Environment, Health & Safety and Lean) and serve as Management Representative to the EHS System Registrar.
  • Identifies and eliminates and/or mitigates risks, with regards to employee safety as well as product. This includes ensuring proper processes and procedures are documented, implemented, and executed.
  • Create and maintain Company procedures/instructions driving compliance with EHS standards.
  • Along with Company Leadership, develop and maintain a robust employee safety program.
  • Deliver successful productivity, cost reduction, revenue and cash generating and/or quality improvement projects by using the CI methodology in a structured sustainable way.
  • Develop key metrics and report on the performance of the EHS/Lean MS (e.g., results of safety audits, ratings for accidents and near misses, EcoVadis, employee training, continuous improvement projects along with cost savings)
  • Develop lean training plans and track progress.
  • Ensure environmental, health and occupational safety compliance is maintained and current.
  • Act as a change agent to ensure significant process improvement with positive financial impact.

Desired experience and qualifications

Work experience : Five years of experience in EHS and Lean Management

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or commensurate experience

Other:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications: OSHA Training, Lean black belt, Six Sigma
  • Experience with implementing ISO 14001,45001 and 50001
  • Manufacturing environment experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, local and state
  • Maintain and update EHS compliance documentation.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
