This Role:

Integrates their department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions.
Coordinates and integrates services within their department and with other departments.
Develops and implements policies/procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care.
Determines the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient care services and who are not licensed independent practitioners
Assesses and improves continuously their department’s performances.
Maintains appropriate quality control programs.
Provides for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in the department.
Recommends space and other resources needed by the department.
Participates in selecting outside sources as needed by the department.
Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
