ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following)
· Accurately prepare new patient profiles
· Limited designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling, and dispensing of medications.
· Proficiently operate the cash register which may include opening/closing functions
· Accurately/correctly utilizes the pharmacy operation's computer software system
· Effectively performs and accurately records all assigned quality control activities based on established procedures/protocols
· Continuously demonstrates and achieves all established customer service standards
· Answers the telephone, triages to appropriate person, and takes messages
· Assist in ensuring the pharmacy and related equipment are cleaned and maintained based on established policy and procedures
· Strictly maintains all pharmacy established Quality Assurance activities
· Maintains necessary work skills and knowledge by reviewing the literature and attending in-services, seminars,and etc
· Follows established channels of authority and communication throughout the organization
· Attends designated departmental meetings
· Adherence to all policies and procedures regarding pharmacy services
· Any other additional duties that are reasonably requested which include operating cash register and opening/closing pharmacy operations.
· Good knowledge of retail pharmacy procedures, practices and equipment relating to operating a cash register and pharmacy clerical support job functions
· Demonstrates strong customer service skills
· Ability to effectively and professionally represent the company
· Strong ability to positively interact with other people e.g. company customers
· Some knowledge of principles and practices of pharmacy business administration
· Some knowledge of functions, organizations and governing laws and regulations of pharmacy
· Good analytical and problem solving skills
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
· Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or GED
· Minimum of one year's experience in retail pharmacy as a pharmacy sales support/clerk/cashier position
· Possess a working knowledge of basic drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug use
