Medix is Hiring a Medical Front Desk Specialist Near Irving, TX
- Contract to hire opportunity (5 months)
- One Float opening (Irving/Fort Worth); One Non-Float opening (Irving only)
- In-per son position
- Greets and directs all patients within the practice
- Checking in/out patients
- Collecting co-payments and outstanding balances
- Confirming proper documentation is in the patients charts.
- Verifying and updating patient's demographic and insurance information at each visit
- Scanning patient information into the EHR including insurance cards, picture ids and medical records
- Obtaining patient authorizations for medical records release (HIPAA compliance)
- Scheduling necessary appointments after completion of patients visit.
- Calling and rescheduling patients appointments for cancellations or no shows
- Completing end of day tasks
- Maintaining accurate collections and reporting
- Other duties assigned
- Minimum high school diploma
- At least one-year relevant experience and/or training.
- EMR experience is required, Nextgen Office preferred.
- Float position: M, T, Th in Irving/W and F in Fort Worth; M-F: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (30 minute lunch)
- Non-Float Position:Irving only; M-F: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (30 minute lunch)
