Job Overview:
We’re looking for a dedicated Educational Instructor for our Creative Transitions program, located in Parma, OH. The Educational Instructor teaches and assists our clients with developmental disabilities in their endeavors of higher education, under the direction of the Academic Director.

Duties:

• Develops or assists with appropriate lesson plans, student worksheets, and other evidence-based activities.
• Works with students with organizational supports and academic assistance and tutoring.
• Works collaboratively with college staff and professors, Access department and other college programs.
• Provide individualized support and guidance to students based on their learning needs.
• Monitors student behaviors and supports any disciplinary rules and actions mentioned in company guidelines and college Student Handbook.
• Staff must be willing to provide transportation in company vehicle for the individuals to participate in community integration and /or to and from the day site.
• Reports to Academic Director.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education preferred
• Ability to pass a background check
• Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent resource management, computer, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those with disabilities, who are sick, injured, elderly, or from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
• Physical finesses, ability to walk, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands
