We are hiring for the following:

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse

Location: Beaufort County Detention Center

Pay Rate: $34/hr

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with all members of the medical team, including the Physician, to deliver proper medical care to patients
• Schedule dental and medical appointments per Physician's orders
• Provide emergency medical assistance
• Conduct medical history interviews and prepare medical history and physical reports
• Administer medication and other treatment per Physician's orders
• Ensure that policies and procedures regarding the Medical Department are followed, especially in maintaining control of all medications
• Document promptly and properly
• Help keep medical office clean and orderly, and properly stocked, and all medical purchase orders are submitted promptly

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Nursing Program in Practical Nursing that leads to license eligibility
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate
• Current and unrestricted LPN (or LVN) in the State of South Carolina or from a Compact state
• At least one (1) year nursing experience highly preferred; experience in a correctional setting very helpful
• Must hold CPR/BLS prior to start date and maintain certification throughout employment
