Overview Of Position

Medifast is seeking a Communications & Marketing Specialist to assist with a variety of PR and marketing supporting the company's OPTAVIA PR & influencer programs, Medifast PR and marketing, the organization's corporate social responsibility program and reporting.

This role will support the PR and corporate marketing team to help drive customer acquisition and increase brand awareness.

This position will help craft the company's corporate social media content, lead the company's corporate social responsibility program, work with agency partners and internal and external stakeholders to develop marketing and communications materials.

They will also compile the reports on behalf of the communications and marketing team. This person should have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be passionate about learning as it relates to PR, social media and corporate social responsibility programs and analytics.

Adoption of medically supported weight loss solutions has accelerated rapidly but many consumers are struggling to understand the role that medication can play in supporting long-term health.

Weight loss medications alone are not a sliver bullet, but when paired with lifestyle changes, clinician care and foundational drivers of wellbeing, including nutrition and exercise, it can play an important role in addressing significant health challenges faced by people around the world.

This person will have the opportunity to support tactically execution as we transform Medifast and OPTAVIA in this dynamic landscape.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the cultivation of positive relationships with nonprofit partners.
• Work with HR to provide opportunities for employees to participate in events.
• Generate yearly report showcasing what impact CSR has had on the company. Provide IR with talking points on a quarterly basis with relationship to CSR accomplishments.
• Support the tactical pull through of OPTAVIA influencer campaign efforts.
• Support the tactical pull through of Medifast PR efforts.
• Work with agency to manage content calendar, brainstorm ideas, draft submissions. Collaborate with Creative Services to develop supporting graphics.
• Lead development of Medifast annual report, awards submissions process, and support the tactical execution of website enhancements and security updates with creative agency and internal digital product team.

Option to move to MED marketing person).

Manage social, web and analytics for both OPTAVIA PR and Medifast PR and marketing.

Scope

This person executes tactical PR and marketing plans to ensure campaigns and assets are developed and launched in alignment with pre-approved timelines.

In addition, this person work ensure campaigns are effectively measured and reported out on.

This position supports the corporate social responsibility initiatives while maintaining the continuity of HHFA program.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in PR, marketing, journalism, communications, or other related fields required.
• years of experience in marketing, PR, comms or related fields.
• Advanced written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong knowledge of social media landscape.
• Passion for our mission.
• Ability to execute tactical plans with attention to detail and confidence.
• Strong project management skills.
• Curious about learning new skills and ongoing training.
