Responsibilities of Therapeutic Recreation Specialist:

• Responsible for planning and providing an ongoing program of activities for residents and patients in a short-term rehabilitation, sub-acute care, and long-term care center, that encourage physical, mental and psychosocial well-being
• Provide training to the person receiving services and as appropriate, all others involved in that person's rehabilitation
• Participate in the team process providing input and effective treatment strategies

Qualifications for a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist:

• Two (2 ) years of social or recreational program experience within the last five years (one of which must have been full-time in a residential activities program in a health care setting) OR
• Completion of a state approved Therapeutic or Recreational Activities training program OR
• Must qualify as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is preferred

Our property features private and semi-private rooms, landscaped grounds, 7-day per week admissions, and rehabilitation gym with 7 day per week therapy, and we accept a wide variety of insurance plans. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
