Compliance Specialist Position. Medical Reprieve Coordinator and Clinical Assistant to Statewide Medical Director.
Job description Minimum: Certified Nurse Assistant in the state of Georgia. Preferably a Licensed Practical Nurse. Must have a working knowledge of medical conditions and terminology. The Georgia Department of Corrections, and the Office of Health Services assures the required constitutional level of healthcare in the most efficient, cost-effective, and humane matter possible while protecting the public health interests of the citizens of Georgia. POSITION OVERVIEW: Under broad supervision will organize, review, analyze, coordinate, and monitor medical reprieve identification and eventual submission to the Georgia Board of Pardons & Parole, Track, trend and analyze medical reprieve submission, BPP dispositions and monitor compliance with the Medical Reprieve program and processes. Identify and gather appropriate clinical information necessary for the Medical Directors to review, respond, take action on clinical issues, Review Medical Reprieve submissions for accuracy, completeness and compliance with criteria and guidelines, Interface with clinical and administrative leadership on issues related to the delivery of medical services, Interface with clinical and administrative facility staff, as needed and directed by the OHS Medical Directors, Assist OHS Medical Directors in preparing presentations and CQI activities, Assist OHS Medical Directors in performing any assigned project and process, Skilled and comfortable with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Skilled and comfortable with making presentations to various audiences on the delivery of medical services, from an OHS perspective, Knowledgeable in correctional healthcare delivery, Familiar with Electronic Health Records and able to research, review, and retrieve clinical information, Perform any other assigned activity designated and directed by the OHS Medical Directors, Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision, Knowledgeable of the principles and practices of ethical behavior, patient privacy laws, medical terminology, and clinical procedures. Familiar with Electronic Health Records, Data management. 25 percent travel.
