This job is responsible for governing data aspects of our SDLC, including data masking and data security in non-prod application environments. Additionally, would assist in optimizing application DB design as well as application SQL logic. Team would be governing and securing Cloud Data infrastructure and connectivity to on prem data sources. The team would also participate in templatizing and deploying on prem data related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provides consultation to non-system administrators, the development team and infrastructure team with the design and support of host systems with client and internal applications by actively participating in client and internal project meetings.
  • Creation and maintenance of end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
  • Build and configure delivery environments to support SDLC processes.
  • Creation and enforcement of governance around development quality and security processes.
  • Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Troubleshoot issues in preproduction environments and assist in successful elevation of development.
  • Provides consultation to non-system administrators, the development team and infrastructure team with the design and support of host systems with client and internal applications by actively participating in client and internal project meetings.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 years of combined in-depth experience with operating system architecture, design, concepts, analysis, networking and/or cloud systems
  • 1 years of experience designing and developing software oriented towards systems or network automation.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with DevOps and SRE practices.
  • Experience designing enterprise systems incorporating the appropriate balance of performance, cost, availability, redundancy, fault tolerance, availability, security and other factors.
  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting systems.

Professional Certification(s):

  • Exposure to CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.), Infrastructure as Code and other modern IT practices
  • Exposure to containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, TKGI, etc.)

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Design, create, implement, maintain, tune and support DB2/UDB databases on UNIX and z/OS preferred.
  • Create and Monitor JCL jobs for management and monitoring preferred.
  • Provide DBA support for all IMS tools including BMC preferred
  • Create tables/indexes and promote to various subsystems, including production using BMC change manager preferred.
  • Execute effective processes for database backup, recovery and maintenance utilities preferred.
  • Familiar with measurement of database performance, capacity monitoring and tuning processes preferred.
  • Experience with DB2 catalogs, tables spaces and Indexing strategies preferred.
  • Ability to drive systematic improvements and contribute at high levels with limited direction.
  • Ability and willingness to communicate across functional areas to identify and solve problems, regardless of ownership.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a time-critical production environment.
  • Ability to research and apply systems and security specifications for the next generation of hardware/software platforms.
  • Ability to design, test and document the use of new features and procedures to improve server systems and security operations.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, document and evaluate architectural system requirements.
