Provides clerical support to Unit, answers the phone, faxes notifications and lab results to physicians, schedules appointments, checks unit mailbox and retrieves lab results from the printer. Assists in transporting residents with the facility as needed. Transcribes physician orders and completes the non-clinical portion of paperwork for new and re- admissions. Gathers information for the daily stand- up meeting (e.g. 24-hour report books care plan books and resident profiles) Schedules appointments. Files new information into medical records, updates meal percentage, weight sheets, etc. Informs manager of residents with decreased meal intake. Faxes dietary recommendations to the physician, documents weight and vital signs. Assists with admission and discharge of residents. Assist with pass trays at mealtimes. Prepares charts for new admissions; enters face sheet. Transports residents and charts to exam room for on-site visits by specialists. Preps and clean the exam room.
