Job Summary and Qualifications

The OB Scrub Tech collaborates with physicians and Registered Nurses to serve in a support role within the OR. Responsible for supplies, instrumentation and equipment needed for surgical cases. Proficient in surgical environment as a surgical assistant passing and assisting the physician during surgical cases. Able to create and maintain a sterile field, performing sponge, sharp and instrument counts accurately and initiating corrective action when counts are incorrect (following AORN guidelines).

What you will do in this role:

• Care and maintenance of surgical instruments
• Organizational and time management skills required
• Flexibility in scheduling due to erratic census
• Demonstrate ability to assist with care of women of childbearing age and the newborn up to two (2) hours of age
• Support family centered maternity care

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
• Vocational School Graduate
• High School Graduate / GED
