This vibrant community welcomes approximately 150,000 people per day to work, eat, and shop. Reporting to Circulation Librarian, this position supports a Circulation Department that prides itself on the highest quality of service at the busiest public desk within the Library.

Anticipated start date is June 24, 2024.

Major duties include, but are not limited to :

Greet library users and perform all circulation desk activities, including but not limited to checking materials in and out, registering people for library cards, and preparing notices for mailing.

Prepare circulation desk for the day : set up computer terminals, empty book drops, etc.

Assist library users via phone and in person

Prepare and return materials to the shelves; shelf reading

Assist in closing or opening the library

Recommended minimum qualifications include

High School diploma

Experience working with the public

Computer skills and flexibility to adapt to constantly changing technology

Excellent customer service skills

Attention to detail

This is a part time position, average of 15 hours per week.

Hours are Monday 5pm-9pm, Wednesday 5pm-9pm and Thursday 6pm-9pm; with a one in three-week Saturday rotation 9 : 45am-5pm.

Opportunity to work Sundays and summer Saturdays as overtime shifts.

Pay range starts at $18.10 / hr with the opportunity to advance to a max rate of $22.82 / hr through semi-annual increases.
