Description
Educated Solutions Corporation's premier healthcare client is looking to hire a
Medical Insurance Authorization Representative.
This role works in
West Allis, WI and works Monday - Friday 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm.
Job Responsibilities :
Verify the accuracy and completeness of patient account information and ensure compliance with payer requirements.Maintain, confirm, and secure referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications required for patients to receive physician or medical services.
Verify and obtain complete and accurate information from insurance carriers, including benefit coverage, policy limitations, authorization / notification, and pre-certifications for patients.
Follow up with physician offices, financial counselors, patients, and third-party payers to ensure the completion of the pre-certification process.
Collaborate with internal departments to provide updates on account status, coordinate issue resolution, and appeal denied authorizations.
Ensure all services have prior authorizations and keep patients informed about their preauthorization status.Notify patient accounts staff / patients of insurance coverage lapses and self-pay patient status.
Communicate authorization / certification denials to ordering providers if necessary.Accurately gather and transfer data from various sources to the United Healthcare (UHC) portal using Microsoft Excel and EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Qualifications and Requirements :
Prior insurance authorization experience is required.Must have understanding of basic human anatomy, medical terminology and procedures for application in the patient referral / pre-certification / authorization processes.
Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a healthcare setting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, with specific experience in EPIC is required.Familiarity with the United Healthcare (UHC) portal is highly preferred.
High School diploma or GED.Good attendance record and reliability in meeting deadlines.
