Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Workforce Development Consultant to provide essential support to the Workforce Development Team. This role will play a key part in various workforce development activities that contribute to building a robust and resilient workforce, advancing leadership, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the CDC.

Duties:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of supervisor training programs. This may include training related to leading hybrid teams, addressing challenges, and enhancing leadership skills.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs aimed at nurturing leadership capabilities within the M&O (Management and Operations) sector and science management teams.
  • Contribute to the administration of stipend programs, including eligibility determinations, stipend distribution, and record keeping.
  • Collaborate in the generation of workforce reports, such as profiles and departures, to provide insights into the CDC's workforce composition and trends.
  • Support the organization's stay interview program, helping to gather feedback from employees to identify retention strategies and promote a healthy work environment.
  • Assist in conducting exit interviews to gain valuable insights from departing employees and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at creating a healthier, more supportive organizational culture and promoting overall employee wellbeing.
  • Play a role in the planning, coordination, and administration of internships and fellowships, providing opportunities for emerging professionals.
Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce development, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience with training and development programs is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Education, or a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in workforce development strategies and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of training and leadership development programs.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills for data collection and interpretation.
  • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment.

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
