Medford Women’s Clinic is searching for a dynamic individual to join our billing team! The Billing Assistant is a full-time position as an integral part of our billing department with our very busy OB/GYN clinic. Our clinic is growing in leaps and bounds with new providers scheduled to join us in the coming year. This is an on-site position, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, working very closely with patients and insurance companies. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, ability to work independently, have a well-developed attention to detail, consistently demonstrate kindness and compassion towards others, and have established, excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Billing Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

· Obtaining authorization for surgery

· Quote and pre-collect surgery estimates from patients

· Patient aging and process accounts to collection agency

· Process insurance delay letters

· Organize and maintain carrier surgical consents

· Assist in generating patient statements

· Process virtual card carrier payments

· Process mail returned to billing department

Skills & Experience

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position in the insurance and medical industry- (must understand insurance industry language related to benefits and eligibility.)

· Experience in requesting insurance authorizations for medical services (preferred)

· Accessing and navigating insurance carrier provider portals

· Professional telephone and written communication

· Basic computer skills

· Typing 45 wpm

· Medical Terminology (preferred)

· High School Diploma or GED (required)

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
