REPORTS TO: Operations Manager and the Medical Control Physician
REVISION DATE: 02.10.2021
DEPARTMENT: Ground
There are two crews assigned to this location, they alternate daily between Primary 911 Duty and Primary IFT Duty, On the 911 day expected call volume should be approximately three calls per day; two 9-1-1 calls and something local (within the city limits) discharge from hospital back to local residence, local dialysis transport etc. On opposite day expectation should be three Interfacilty transfers calls that will likely take the crew from Jackson (or Clarke County) to larger hospitals these trips are approximately 60-100 miles long you should expect to do three of these per day on transfer day.
There are times that this is heavier, there are extended times where this is slower. Medevac works to ensure that the load on the crew is kept to a safe level. Crews may be switched between the shorter 911 assignment and the longer IFT assignments at the company's discretion to facilitate fatigue management. There are rare times that this is done to relieve crews from a significant temporary increase in 9-1-1 calls, but primarily this is done to relieve crews from significant temporary increases in long distances IFT transports.
