Position:- Endoscopy Technician FAST OFFERING POSITION

Location:- RENTON, WA, 98055

Unit Type :- GI/Endoscopy

Care Setting :- Acute

Trauma Level:- Level 3

Charting System:- Epic Systems Corporation - Epic Care Inpatient - EMR

Duration:-16 Weeks Full Time Contract - AUTO OFFER

Shift:- Days Shift | 700-1730 | 4 Days * 10 Hours | MWTHF | No Weekends

  • 2 Years as an Endoscopy Technician

Roles and Responsibilities of an Endoscopy Technician:

  • Pre-Procedure Preparation: Prepare endoscopy equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures, ensuring that everything is sterilized, organized, and ready for use. Set up the endoscopy suite and assist with patient positioning and comfort.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate endoscopy equipment, including endoscopes, monitors, cameras, and suction devices, under the supervision of healthcare providers. Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during procedures.
  • Assisting Healthcare Providers: Assist gastroenterologists, surgeons, and other healthcare providers during endoscopic procedures by passing instruments, adjusting equipment settings, and providing suction or irrigation as needed. Anticipate the needs of the healthcare team and respond promptly to requests for assistance.
  • Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and overall condition throughout endoscopic procedures, alerting healthcare providers to any changes or abnormalities. Provide reassurance and comfort to patients during procedures and address their concerns or questions.
  • Specimen Handling: Assist with the collection, labeling, and transport of specimens obtained during endoscopic procedures, ensuring that samples are properly identified and sent to the laboratory for analysis.
  • Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards to minimize the risk of cross-contamination and ensure the safety of patients and healthcare providers. Clean and disinfect endoscopy equipment and procedure rooms between cases.
  • Documentation: Accurately document procedure details, patient responses, and any complications or adverse events that occur during endoscopic procedures. Complete required documentation in medical records or electronic health record systems in a timely manner.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, such as performance improvement initiatives and equipment maintenance programs, to ensure the delivery of high-quality endoscopy services. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices.
  • Patient Education: Provide pre-procedure instructions to patients, explaining what to expect during endoscopic procedures, including preparation requirements, sedation options, and post-procedure care instructions. Offer post-procedure education and answer any questions or concerns that patients may have.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in endoscopy technology, procedural techniques, and infection control practices through continuing education and training opportunities. Maintain certification and licensure requirements as applicable.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Endo Tech/ GI/Endoscopy: 2 years (Required)
  • EpicCare Inpatient - EMR: 2 years (Required)
  • Hospital: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Washington State Medical Assistant License (Required)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) via AAMA (Preferred)
  • BLS by AHA (Required)
