Position : Quality Assurance Specialist- Research

Location : San Diego, CA

Duration : 1 Year Contract (potential to hire)

Job Description :

Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist in support of their Research Center Infectious Disease Field Surveillance and Laboratory Research Services.

As a hub for Health Surveillance Center, this team conducts on-going, laboratory-based surveillance of populations in unique environments to quantify and study the etiology of infectious illnesses.

Test specimens are collected from ongoing surveillance programs and from special investigations of febrile illnesses and pneumonia among military personnel or civilians.

This position will provide support services for operational infectious disease surveillance, accredited clinical laboratory testing, diagnostic evaluations, clinical research support and scientific research services.

Responsibilities :

  • Support surveillance of operational infectious diseases that affect personnel in coordination with federal agencies, local governments, research organizations, and universities at locations around the world
  • Provide operational support for diagnostic evaluations, clinical studies, and / or clinical trials supported by their team and sponsored by Federal Agencies or private companies.
  • Maintain Good Clinical Laboratory Practices standards in performance of laboratory testing.
  • Maintain the existing Government approved QA / QC (quality assurance / quality control) program that meets accreditation standards (such as CAP- College of American Pathologists) and improves the safety and quality of the laboratory.
  • Monitor quality metrics, initiate and support Root Cause Investigations, develop effective Corrective / Preventative Actions, and execute Continuous Quality Improvement projects.
  • Oversee and support Document Control System

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors of Science degree
  • 2 years experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control management- Laboratory Setting
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a favorable NACLC T3 security investigation

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience within operational infectious disease surveillance
  • Experience developing and applying quality standards requirements
  • Experience developing and conducting laboratory tests
