About the Role:
The Clinical Education Audiologist is responsible for the product and system training for audiologists, customers, MED-EL internal staff, and clinical customer groups. In this role, you will create and deliver training to support the needs of the business with both internal and external stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop, assess, and deliver clinical and product training for MED-EL staff and clinical customer groups using best practices for adult learning.
  • Ensure that all training content meets US regulatory and product labeling requirements.
  • Create training content, job aids, and support materials for audiologists and other customer or staff groups as well as review and update existing materials.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, or support to employees who are tasked with delivering training in their area of responsibility.
  • Assess trainee competencies and recommend additional or remedial training as needed.
  • Coordinate and track technical, clinical, and product training.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create and develop advertising media to promote training opportunities.
  • Work closely with with experts in the field and developers of new products within the company to obtain the technical knowledge necessary to effectively deliver training on new and existing products.
  • Develop training content and the supporting presentations, learning activities, scripts, and documents to effectively deliver it within the specified timeframe.
  • Travel to participate in conferences, teach workshops, meet customers, gain field experience with new MED-EL products, and deliver MED-EL training. (Monthly or more as business requires).
Position Qualifications:
  • Positive attitude, strong personal communication skills, the ability to work as a team and collaborate across departments.
  • Doctoral degree in audiology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years cochlear implant and bone conduction implant experience required. Hearing aid fitting experience is highly desirable.
  • Audiological background with proven clinical expertise in cochlear implants and bone conduction devices.
  • Experience with MED-EL products preferred.
  • Certification by the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) or the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Up-to-date company product knowledge about previous, existing, and emerging products in the hearing implant landscape.
  • Computer skills required include, but are not limited to Microsoft Office, online training delivery systems, learning management systems (LMS), basic video/audio recording, editing, and rendering for on-demand training modules.
  • Professional presentation skills, with experience presenting in front of both small and large groups.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Prior experience (or certification) with teaching, training and/or adult learning delivery methods is preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Located within - or willing to relocate to – Durham, NC
