ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSES

FULL TIME - Monday - Friday

• As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will ensure the nursing department provides consistent, attentive and efficient care to patients of Meadow Green.
• The Assistant Director of Nurses will assist the Director of Nursing in maintaining the standards of resident care, advising the medical staff, department heads, and administrator in matters related to nursing services.
• Provides leadership to the department of nursing by creating a framework of educational services that promote the growth and development of its licensed and unlicensed staff while maintaining a safe and clean environment along with resident dignity and resident rights.
• Meets all state and federal standards for a licensed and certified skilled nursing facility.
• You will work closely with the DON to improve quality of patient care and services provided by the nursing team and ensure quality customer service and compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations, as well as policies and procedures set by Meadow Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in developing and implementing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services.
• Ensure that all nursing services personnel are performing their respective duties.
• Assists with Admissions to the Facility
• Review nurse’s notes to ensure proper documentation is maintained relating to resident’s treatment, medications and conditions.
• Report problems areas to the Director of Nursing Services and assist in developing corrective actions.
• Support DON carry out assigned duties.
• · Ensure consistent and smooth implementation of daily operational procedures.
• · Communicate with DON to determine daily responsibilities for ongoing projects.
• · Perform all necessary daily tasks.
• · Implement new policies on operational changes.
• · Act as liaison with residents/families and employees to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements and Skills

• Must be a licensed nurse in the state of Massachusetts. RN strongly preferred.
• Training and Experience: At least two years of nursing experience, at least one of which has been in a charge nurse capacity.
• Experience in a hospital, long term care facility or other healthcare related facility.
• Long term care, skilled nursing experience is preferred.
• Knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients/residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in LTC
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
• Aptitude in problem-solving
• RN Degree in Nursing with healthcare administration experience.
• Understands and upholds the Residents' Bill of Rights and holds all resident information confidential. Understands employee rights in accordance with HIPAA and holds all employee information confidential.
• Valid nursing and CPR certification
