MDW is currently seeking a full-time Java Developer to support our operations in Memphis, TN or Fairfax, VA. Remote work will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This position requires thinking outside of the box and researching and proposing innovative ideas. The Developer will be responsible for the following duties/roles and/or responsibilities:

• Design, develop and implement web-based applications.
• Design, develop and implement highly complex applications utilizing Oracle.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills to solve complex problems.
• Demonstrate a flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure and ability to handle change easily while meeting deadlines.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing to design efficient and effective applications.
• Work independently and in a team environment, to give and receive direction.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Develop and revise ColdFusion program code based on clearly defined requirements.
• Assist in the setup of production environment including application servers and database servers.
• Assist in the implementation of applications into production.
• Effective communication and ability to work in a team environment and think analytically.
• Perform maintenance on programs currently in production.
• Provide on-call support for this highly visible application.
• Other duties as needed.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 6 years' experience in Oracle PL/SQL performing software engineering activities
• 6 years' experience in JAVA development
• Developing with JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, Dojo, Bootstrap, AngularJS), and AJAX
• Code versioning tools, such as SVN/GIT
• AWS & GIT experience
• Experience in a combination in the following areas: HTML and XML and CSS

• Creating web services (Soap and Rest)
• Developing on multiple platforms including Windows and Linux
• 3 years of progressively more complex programming experience in large scale information system environments
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

Candidates with the following experience are highly desirable:

• NET
• Java, J2EE
• C
• Perl
• Flex

Education Requirement/Required Years of Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 6 years' experience in both Java development and Oracle PL/SQL performing software engineering activities required. An additional 4 years (total of 14 years) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Clearance Requirement:

• Candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder and must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
