Network Engineer

Location: Newark, NJ (hybrid), no 3rd party, w2 only, local candidates

Duration: 18 months

Requirements Gathering

Tasks: Vendor will provide resources to help with day-to-day and overall operational activities around FTD/FMC Secure Firewalls (Firepower) and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).

• Schedule, lead, and facilitate conference calls with internal and external parties for cutovers.
• Implement changes on firewalls and network during the agreed upon scheduled change windows.
• Adjust route filters for ACI.
• Implement changes on the firewalls (e.g. rules, NATs, routing, etc.)
• Vendors will follow appropriate guidelines as per security policies.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Cisco FMC and FTD firewalls for configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Cisco ACI configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with site-to-site VPN using Cisco Routers
• Experience using Splunk to research and troubleshoot firewall logs.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple efforts in parallel with multiple project managers.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Ablity to manage work research work during the day and cutovers on weeknight or weekend nights.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Vendor with VPN access or remote access for tasks to be performed remotely.
• Provide Vendor with onsite access for any work to be completed on premises.
• Within two (2) Business Days of request, provide relevant documentation related to current and planned architectural design(s).
• Provide signoff for the Services.
• Assign and manage activities performed by Vendor s resources.
• Assign and manage activities performed by Vendor.
