MD & VA Milk Producers is Hiring a 2nd Shift - Training Relief PA Near Philadelphia, PA

Essential Duties Class V – Vacation Relief (Including, but not limited to)

  • Operates a Pure-Pak, Cup filling, BIB filling, palletizing or other similar machine designed to form, fill and seal packages. Will operate all support equipment associated with these departments.
  • Checks the assembly, operation and setting of the machine of the start of operation or shift. Keeps the machine supplied with cartons.
  • Checks to ensure that lines and equipment are flushed and drained at the start of operation and between products when necessary. Ensure that the product being packaged matches the product description on the container.
  • Will operate more than one machine.
  • Operates such coding, casing, stacking, conveying, and palletizing equipment as may be required.
  • Responsible for all product packaged, assures the correct weight, proper seal sell-by code and record information. Makes minor adjustments. Checks to ensure that product is supplied from the correct storage tank.
  • Fills product from order sheet at the manufacture’s maximum recommended rate for the Filler. Keeps record of downtime and reasons for being down. Keeps an accurate count of each label packaged. Responsible for following all instructions provided by any company authorized trainer.
  • Changes product and cartons when orders are completed. Adjust machine for carton size where necessary. Change over filler within 10 minutes time frame.
  • Immediately (within five minutes) notify the shift supervisor when your filler is unable to operate. This excludes product changeovers and other routine reasons for downtime.
  • If required, sterilize the fillers as scheduled before or during the operation between products.
  • Will actuate valves to control product flow.
  • Will operate line equipment, box formers, sealers, coders, labelers and any other related equipment.
  • Will disassemble, clean and assemble equipment. CIP filler’s as required.
  • Does other work as required such as policing work area and other task as directed by supervision. Must maintain good housekeeping and orderliness in your work area.
  • Notifies the laboratory of change of product. Convey cartons to laboratory for testing purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Aware of all safety procedures.
  • Aware of and wears all personal protective equipment.
  • Follows GMP and PMO regulations and guidelines.
  • Can properly fill out all required documentation.
  • Has a complete understanding of the schedule.
  • Must be capable of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

  • Burn hazard from high temperature processing equipment.
  • Fluctuations in ambient temperature.
