MD Anderson is Hiring a Research Data Coordinator Health Disparities Research Near Houston, TX

Provides administrative and patient care services for the coordination of research studies. Perform entry level-specific activities in support of multiple research projects and studies targeting underserved Hispanic/Latino communities in Houston, TX. To implement applied prevention projects including data collection, field interviewing, and educational activities. Candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Research Related Tasks: Assist Research Scientist or other staff on project related tasks such as recruitment and screening of participants. Conduct in-person interviews and assessments with participants. Evening and weekend work will be required. Conduct telephonic and in-person interviews and assessments with participants. Ability to complete tasks as assigned in a timely and accurate manner; at peak periods may be working under short timelines and stressful conditions. Travel to various local community sites (e.g., health care clinics, community centers, participants' homes) is required. Adapts to changing conditions in situations that may be characterized by high stress levels, such as project deadlines. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, budget and prioritize time and workload, address spontaneous issues and problems, resolve conflicts, and make decisions.
Data Entry: Enter participant data in the database and perform basic data management tasks; register participant in institutional database. Extensive use with Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word and research programs such as Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap).
Literature search/review: Search and review literature in pertinent areas preparing written reports as necessary. Photocopy, organize, and maintain journal articles accurate records.
Analytical Thinking: Gather relevant information systematically; break down problems into simple components; make sound decisions.
Develop Oneself: Pursue learning and self-development; actively seek feedback; transfer learning into next steps; set high standards of performance; drive for results and achievement.

EDUCATION
Required:High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE
Required: Two years of related experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.
Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading, writing and speaking)
