The Patient Care Technician position on P11- Head & Neck/Breast Surgery unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.
Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.
The schedule will be day/eve shift with rotating weekends and holidays required.The Head & Neck/Plastics Reconstruction unit provides specialized nursing care to patients with a unique complexity of needs. Challenge yourself to enhance your critical-thinking and knowledge of airway management, microvascular flap monitoring, and wound care. 

Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $17.54 - Midpoint $21.88 - Maximum $26.20

Essential Job Functions:
Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Preferred: One year of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting.

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
