McSherr Inc. is Hiring a Direct Support Professional Near Castle, IN

We are looking to hire a Temporary to potential full time person to work 3rd shift at our New Castle Group Home. The hours for this Position will be:

Wednesday thru Saturday 11pm-9am.

This can be a full or part time temporary position.

Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being of our clients.

Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs as required
- Assist with meal planning and preparation
- Accompany individuals to medical appointments and community outings
- Implement behavior management strategies and support individuals in developing social skills
- Document client progress and report any concerns or changes in behavior to the appropriate supervisor
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized environment

Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with working in nursing homes, home care, hospice care, or similar settings is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality
- CPR/First aid/AED certification is desirable

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

We offer competitive pay rates for this position. The exact rate will be determined based on experience.
