JOB SUMMARY : Provide Medical Support Assistant Services at the Wewoka Indian Health Center.

PRIMARY DUTIES :

Receive high volume telephone and personal calls and messages and utilize knowledge of organizations, programs, operations and procedures to make proper disposition of inquiries.

Question callers to the extent necessary to establish or clarify the nature of the call and information required. Incumbent refers callers directly to persons designated or to supervisor or staff members if technical matters are involved.

Select inquiries that can be personally answered without reference to supervisor or staff members, including matters requiring substantive program knowledge, or are sensitive or controversial in nature.

Takes message for departments in their absence or directs callers concerned with urgent matters to most appropriate staff member while observing the rules of confidentiality in the retention and discrimination of privileged information.

Be able to assess and interpret varying situations to determine proper action to take and must assess conditions and situation over the telephone or via audible alarm system in order to provide proper response, medical, fire, security or police services.

Incumbent must be able to execute numerous emergency procedures and responses at the same time.

Responsible for greeting customers or clients, scheduling appointments, assist in calling and scheduling Covid-19 vaccinations and Covid-19 testing, preparing documents and entering information, and other administrative duties such as opening and sorting mail and performing basic word processing tasks.

May be required to create and manage records using computer software. Responsible for answering and routing phone calls and checking messages.

Responsible for providing information about the organization to the public or for routing customers' questions to the appropriate person.

• Clerical duties as assigned, filing, etc.
• Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION :

Background check required.
