Summary The Business Unit Controller is a director-level position reporting to the corporate controller and leads the finance and accounting functions of the business unit, including managing the financial accounting and reporting process, financial audits, internal controls, tax and treasury functions. Establishes relationships with key external parties, including customers, vendors, auditors, and service providers. Champions internal relationships with cross functional leaders. Drives for continuous improvements and develops people on their team. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Leads the monthly closing, prepares the consolidated financial statements including consolidating multiple entities, and presents a monthly reporting package.
2. Establishes operating cadence for the business including planning/forecasting activities, weekly staff reviews, and daily KPIs.
3. Organizes annual audit to support the preparation of audited financial statements for ownership interests and financial creditors.
4. Partners with other leaders to identify opportunities for improvement including revenue generation, cost reduction, and cash cycle improvements.
5. Manages the treasury function for the business unit and supports the CFO with managing operating liquidity by preparing an accurate 13-week forecast and maintaining compliance with the credit facility.
6. Manages the general ledger, sub-ledgers and keeps organized records for all financial-related transactions including capital purchases, financing, and other significant matters.
7. Manages the accounts receivable and payables functions and drives for commercial action as needed.
8. Manages the cost accounting function and establishes appropriate KPI’s to evaluate efficiency and returns.
9. Ensures internal and financial controls for the organization – facilitates accounting policies for the company and ensures compliance with GAAP.
10. Supports executive leadership and peers with ad hoc analysis and reporting.
11. Leads a team by creating a transparent environment, motivates individuals using coaching techniques and paces performance by offering timely ‘continue’ and ‘consider’ feedback.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting
2. Progressive experience leading finance and accounting functions
3. Experience managing other people and building positive culture for your team
4. Substantial ERP experience - leading systems implementations a plus
5. Expert at leading period-end closings, management analysis and financial commentary
6. Exposure with tax, audit and treasury functions
7. Proficient with Excel (including Power BI) and PowerPoint – good data management and professional presentations
8. Communicates concisely in all formats and levels of the organization
