The Housekeeping Supervisor at the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando at SeaWorld is responsible for ensuring that all housekeeping activities are carried out professionally, to standards, and at the highest level of service. The Housekeeping Supervisor will achieve desired outcomes through the creation, development, and maintenance of competent, motivated, and empowered team.Responsibilities:Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standardsPlan and prepare employee work schedulesPerform or assist with cleaning duties as neededInvestigate complaints about service and equipment and take corrective actionCoordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely mannerCheck equipment to ensure that it is in working orderInspect and evaluate the physical condition of the rooms and determine maintenance needsSelect the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of linens, furniture, flooring, and surfacesInstruct staff in work policies and procedures, and the use of equipmentOrder and purchase equipment and supplies as neededForecast necessary levels of staffing and stock at different timesEvaluate employee performance, and recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and dismissalsConfer with team to resolve performance and personnel problems, and to discuss company policiesImplement operational standards and procedures for the departmentRecommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiencyMaintain required records of work hours, budgets, payrolls, and other informationScreen job applicants, interview, and hire new team membersSupervise in-house services such as laundryAdvise the front office of rooms ready for occupancyPerform financial tasks such as estimating costs and preparing and managing budgetsPrepare activity and personnel reports, and reports containing information such as occupancy, hours worked, facility usage, work performed, and departmental expensesInspect and clean all appliances, including coffee makerRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent2 years’ experience in hotel housekeeping or related fieldEffective communication both verbally and writtenEffective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns from team and guestsOrganizational skills and attention to detailProficient in the use of Microsoft OfficeExcellent time managementA can-do attitude and a hands-on approachA flexible schedule that allows availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
