Description:

We're seeking a committed and detail-oriented Full-Stack Web Developer to join our expanding financial technology team. In this role, you will delve into the intricacies of our evolving client-facing Web Application, navigating through data access, business logic, and user interface layers. Your responsibilities will encompass not only meeting the specific requirements and design preferences of our internal stakeholders but also implementing new features, modules, and improvements, while addressing bugs in existing code. Your duties will prioritize maintaining proper modularity and code design, adhering to MVC best practices, and diligently developing tests for the code you produce.

Duties:

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and rigorously testing the source code of our Web Application. This includes proficiently utilizing PHP scripting within the Laravel framework, conducting Eloquent ORM reads from the AWS RDS MySQL Database, and executing JavaScript calculations to handle complex financial formulas.
  • Scripts code based on business requirements from internal stakeholders while meeting the expectations of external clients.
  • Conducts comprehensive unit testing to guarantee that deliverables precisely match the design and features outlined by business partners, ensuring readiness for production release.
  • Provides expertise to transfer knowledge, document processes, and create process and technical design documentation for user implementations.
  • Proactively helps identify and update IT policies and procedures surrounding structured analysis and design, quality assurance test cases, and governance.
  • May offer on-the-job training and guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Actively engaged in software and database updates for enterprise users.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline or work experience.
  • Five to seven years of web application and SQL development experience.
  • Having IT and/or financial certifications, or demonstrating an eagerness to acquire them, is highly beneficial.
  • Essential proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, Postgres, MySQL relational databases, HTML/CSS, Angular.js, Alpine.js, and Blade templates.
  • Must have experience in the Banking/Financial Services industry, products, and services.
  • Software development skills developing commercial grade or open-source applications, including a proven track record of success Product deliverables and Project deployments.
  • Highly proficient with Structured Query Language (SQL), PL/SQL, stored procedure creation, data quality testing scripts and database administration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of system design procedures and the ability to translate functional business requirements into application systems or current process enhancements.
  • Above average ability with the Microsoft Office suite and other business-related software, systems, and programming languages. Exceptional candidates for this role would be proficient with higher level programming languages, such as Python, Java, R, and PHP.
  • Proficient in applying industry-standard software development methodologies, with a keen interest in expanding expertise in big data and cloud-based data warehouse design and development.
  • Experience with data connections and data visualizations on a Business Intelligence (BI) dashboard tool (examples: Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire, Qlikview, Quickbase, Redash or Domo).
