Mathematics Teacher

Position Summary McQuaid Jesuit, a Catholic school in Rochester, NY, teaching boys in grades 6-12, is seeking a full-time Mathematics teacher. Ideal applicants have graduate degrees in Mathematics, or Education/Mathematics, prior teaching experience in middle and/or high school, and a willingness to promote all areas of Jesuit education. Successful candidates will be open to growth, religious, intellectually competent, and committed to social justice. We seek individuals who will participate in the extracurricular and spiritual life of the school.

Competencies/Skills

● Understands and is committed to the Mission of Jesuit education and formation

● Strong aptitude in Mathematics and mathematical related processes in an academic environment

● Advanced skills and aptitude with various types of computer software such as MS Office Suite and Google Platforms

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills

● Outstanding organizational skills

● Observes confidentiality and professional boundaries

● An excellent work ethic with a strong attention to detail

Additional Responsibilities

● Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

● None

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Education with a concentration in Mathematics. Prior math teaching experience is preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee will occasionally lift or move items over 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Salary range $48,000 to $70,000 per year
