The West Bonner County School District #83, Priest River, Idaho, Board of Trustees, is seeking a highly qualified and fully certified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position on July 1, 2024.

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Board of Trustees in identifying and screening the candidates.

Enrollment: 1,000

Location: 50 miles northeast of Spokane, Washington; 25 miles west of Sandpoint, Idaho

The Qualifications

The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make. The Board developed the following desired characteristics.

• Possess strong and effective communication and listening skills: able to communicate effectively with the Board, staff, students, parents, and community members. Be open-minded, willing to listen and learn about the culture of community; and be able to work well with all stakeholders.
• An experienced and knowledgeable student-centered educator who is committed to student achievement and academic excellence. Possess the ability to develop and communicate a vision of quality education for the future. Be willing to work with the five-year plan and improve on it as needed.
• A strong fiscal leader who has demonstrated skills in financial management, budget development and oversight, and is knowledgeable of Idaho school funding.
• Possess strong management and organizational skills: policy oriented, forward thinking, adaptable, solution oriented, innovative problem solver, not afraid of challenges, and a willingness to embrace the community.
• An ethical leader who models high expectations for self, staff, and students. Possesses the personal characteristics of integrity, fairness, humility, and dependability. Is friendly and approachable, collaborative and decisive, and community oriented. 

Salary: $94,111-$122,808 (dependent upon experience)
