The Nursing Student Success Coach is entrusted with the crucial role of offering comprehensive support to pre-nursing and nursing students, encompassing both academic and personal well-being, while also designing programmatic initiatives to foster a strong sense of belonging and purpose among the students.

Assist with planning and implementing events for students.

Assist with the nursing professions First Year Seminar.

Assist with planning and implementing discovery trips for pre-nursing students.

Assist with recruitment of supplemental instructors for all pre-nursing science courses.

Assist in the development of an admissions test preparation program.

Assist pre-nursing students with the nursing application process.

Assist with the development of a summer bridge program.

Success coach for pre-nursing and nursing students:

• Monitors progress of students in caseload with check-ins, scheduled meetings or proactive outreach and communication, responding to students’ questions, concerns and needs.
• Assists students in developing self-efficacy by identifying and overcoming obstacles that may be impeding academic success; works with students to learn strong time management and organization skills; motivates students to practice self-regulation and take ownership of their academic success.
• Refers students to appropriate academic personnel and support resources and collaborates with others to monitor and accelerate the academic progress of the students referred.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of all meetings with students.
• Conduct during-term and end-of-term student interventions as needed based on course performance and/or GPA.
• Coordinate with faculty and staff to help meet students’ academic needs.
• Connect at-risk students with appropriate academic support programming.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to communicate with a variety of campus constituencies.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Master of Science in Nursing with counseling background and higher education experience.
