McMillan Pazdan Smith is Hiring a Construction Administrator Near Charleston, SC

Description

A larger firm of 330 employees with a boutique firm atmosphere. 

We are currently seeking a Construction Administrator to join our team (s). As a Construction Administrator you will be responsible for supporting the project teams and providing project process guidance. 

Responsibilities 

· Manage construction administration activities on projects.

· Ability to read, interpret, and understand plans, specifications, and other contract documents and perform quality control throughout project life cycle.

· Understand and fulfill terms and conditions of owner - architectural agreement and owner – General Contractor (GC) / Construction Manager (CM) contract requirements and deliverables.

· Participate in mandatory monthly Construction Administration meetings on topics including technology, best practices, lessons learned, and other relevant topics.

· Perform field verification of existing project conditions and report observed design/construction concerns to Project Manager (PM) and Project Architect (PA).

· Perform pre-construction specification and drawing quality control.

· Identify engineering coordination issues, unclear or absent information, code compliance concerns, or construction method quality and scheduling concerns.

· Monitor project for construction document and reoccurring client standards compliance.

· Lead shop drawing and RFI process and submittal review process, by MPS and consultants, to ensure timely review.

· Perform site visits for observation of project progress and provide appropriate reports.

· Serve as liaison /mediator between owner(s) and contractor(s) as needed.

· Attend all State and Federal level Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) inspections and site visits.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in construction science and/or management, architecture, or engineering.

· Ten (10) years combined experience in architecture, engineering, or construction industry firm.

· The ability to travel as required to project sites for site visits and project meetings.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

· Excellent grasp of building technology fundamentals.

· Ability to read and understand plan documents.

· Excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail and communication skills. 

· Self-motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred 

· Experience with Bluebeam PDF Revu

· Experience with Newforma Project Center

· Experience with Plangrid document management system

· Experience with Deltek Vision

· Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM software a bonus

The employee may occasionally be exposed to hazardous working conditions in conjunction with construction site visits. The noise level in the construction zone may be loud. While performing the duties of this job in the office work environment, the employee will not be exposed to hazardous working conditions. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.
