Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Funeral Director to join our dedicated team. The Funeral Director will be responsible for assisting families in making funeral arrangements, coordinating services, and ensuring that all aspects of the funeral process run smoothly. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide support and guidance to grieving families.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with families to discuss funeral arrangements and understand their needs and preferences
  • Guide families through the selection of caskets, urns, and other funeral merchandise
  • Coordinate transportation of the deceased and make arrangements with cemeteries or crematories
  • Prepare and file all necessary legal documents and permits
  • Oversee the preparation of the deceased for viewing and ensure that all preparations are carried out with dignity and respect
  • Arrange and conduct funeral services, ensuring that all details are handled with care and professionalism
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to grieving families
  • Maintain accurate records of all funeral arrangements and expenses

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mortuary Science or a related field preferred
  • Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of Utah, or ability to obtain licensure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor
  • Ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations with professionalism and tact
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in computer software for managing funeral arrangements and records
