STAFF PSYCHOLOGIST POSITION
AT MCLEAN HOSPITAL
McLean Hospital, America’s top ranked freestanding psychiatric hospital, is inviting applications for part-time (20-32 hours/week – flexibility available) Staff Psychologists in our 3East Outpatient DBT Program located in Cambridge, MA.
The ideal candidates will have experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, familiarity with other evidence-based treatments and comfort with dealing with multi-problem children and adolescents. The candidates will be responsible for administering care within the DBT structure offering individual psychotherapy, family psychotherapy, leading skills groups and providing skills coaching to children, adolescents and parents.
The Staff Psychologist has the responsibility to provide clinical services for assigned patients, as well as to participate in the activities of the program. Successful candidates are encouraged to participate in other hospital activities including committees, teaching and research. Candidates should have demonstrated clinical experience relevant to the patients’ needs of the program. The Staff Psychologist will have a role in mentoring, teaching and training post-doctoral trainees.
Salary and recruitment package in accordance with Hospital policies, and a Harvard Medical School appointment at the academic rank of Lecturer, Instructor or Assistant Professor (full or part time) will be contingent on meeting the requirements for an HMS appointment and candidate qualifications including Massachusetts license.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in clinical psychology from an accredited university or school of psychology with current licensure (or license eligible) in Massachusetts.
Clinical psychology expertise and practice is required. Expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (theory and practice) is required. Experience providing DBT treatment to adolescents and families is strongly preferred. In addition, specialty training in DBT such in treating trauma (DBT-PE), substance abuse (DBT-S), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) strongly preferred.
