Position Summary:
Manages the resources for the department to insure quality patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and cost-effective care. Develops and empowers staff, forges collaborative and team relationships within nursing department and with other disciplines and departments. Promotes professional nursing care consistent with standards and policies of hospital and nursing department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Establishes standards and practices within department to advance patient satisfaction. Demonstrates therapeutic interactions with patients, families, and health team members.
* Develops department standards and goals; facilitates attainment of dept. standards and goals.
* Collaborates with multiple disciplines in maintaining quality of care and enhances patient care by communicating with ancillary departments, medical staff, etc. Acts as a role model regarding collaboration and partnerships with physicians and other departments. Maintains forum to enhance communications at all levels.
* Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, retention, corrective action, and competency assessment process for employees in assigned departments. Conducts performance appraisals. Supports organizational and nursing policies related to staffing and employee relations.
* Plans and accurately forecasts budgeting needs for capital expenditures, staffing requirements, and material expenses. Assists with analysis of budget variance, developing corrective action plans as necessary to attain identified target
Qualifications:
Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in Medical Imaging
* Five (5) years of experience in healthcare and management.
Preferred:
* Radiology background
* Master's Degree in healthcare or business related area.
* Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
* Five (5) years of experience in ambulatory services.
